The automotive world saw another milestone when Xiaomi announced that its premium electric car, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, will appear in the legendary racing game Gran Turismo 7.
The largest Xiaomi community in Slovakia
It’s the first-ever Chinese car to appear in this 28-year series, marking an important step not only for the entire Chinese automotive industry, but also for Xiaomi as a tech leader.
Exclusivity in Gran Turismo 7
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is an upgraded version of the brand’s first electric vehicle, which is available only in the domestic Chinese market. By adding it to Gran Turismo, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra opens up to a wider audience, who will be able to try driving this high-performance vehicle at least virtually. The exact date of when the model will appear in the game is not yet known, but confirmation that it’s included is already a major event.
The racing title from Polyphony Digital ranks among the best-selling and most acclaimed racing simulators on the market. Adding a Chinese car to the game is proof of the growing influence of Chinese manufacturers on the global automotive segment, especially in the field of electric mobility.
Founder, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of Xiaomi Group, Lei Jun:
„I strongly resonate with Kazunori Yamauchi’s impressive philosophy of trying to create a better human society through technology. At Xiaomi, we also strive to use technology to help people enjoy a beautiful life, so these philosophies complement each other. The Gran Turismo series is globally known for delivering the highest level of quality and an unforgettable experience, and that’s why I’m really happy that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will appear in the game Gran Turismo. I hope many GT players and car culture enthusiasts will find time to experience the charm of this highly capable intelligent vehicle that represents the Xiaomi brand. The Chinese automotive industry has grown rapidly in recent years, so I believe that in the near future we’ll see many more Chinese cars in Gran Turismo.“
Producer of the Gran Turismo series, Kazunori Yamauchi:
„I’m very happy that we’re starting a collaboration with Xiaomi. In China’s rapidly developing automotive industry, we saw how the new manufacturer Xiaomi moved from smartphones to home appliances and wearables and created an intelligent ecosystem that covers every aspect of everyday life—where the most important part is the SU7 car. At the same time, I was deeply moved by their courage, curiosity, passion, and diligence in creating the SU7 Ultra prototype and breaking a record at the legendary Nürburgring. Honestly, I respect them. All of this strongly resonates with our approach at Gran Turismo and at Polyphony Digital.“
Power-packed hardware: performance that takes your breath away
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra stands out not only with its design, but also with top-tier engineering. Under the hood, there are up to three electric motors—specifically two Xiaomi V8s and one Xiaomi V6s. Together, they can launch the car from 0 to 100 km/h in an incredible 1.98 seconds. Top speed reaches up to 350 km/h, earning the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra the title of the fastest four-door sedan on the legendary Nürburgring circuit.
The car is also equipped with a powerful CATL Qilin 2.0 battery with a range of 630 km according to the CLTC cycle. This is the latest generation of battery technology from a leader in this segment, and it once again confirms Xiaomi’s ambitions to rank among the technology leaders in the automotive industry.
Record-breaking braking and cutting-edge technologies
The SU7 Ultra also boasts another first—it's the world’s first sedan with 430 mm carbon ceramic brake discs. They can stop the vehicle from 100 km/h in an incredibly short distance of just 30.8 meters. Combined with extreme power and high top speed, the car delivers excellent control even when driving at the limits.
The car also offers an advanced energy-recovery system, adaptive suspension, and AI assistants for autonomous driving. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra also supports OTA software updates, meaning that even after purchase it receives software improvements—just like it’s standard with Xiaomi smartphones.
Premium pricing and availability
The price of this tech marvel starts at 529,900 RMB, which is approximately 73,700 USD or 64,500 EUR. Even though it’s a premium vehicle with a higher price tag, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra still represents a very interesting alternative in the electric vehicle world compared with similarly equipped Western models.
However, it’s important to add that the physical vehicle is available only on the Chinese market, so players outside China can enjoy its capabilities at least in the virtual world of Gran Turismo 7.
