Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is preparing to enter the electric vehicle market. And for its first model, called Xiaomi SU7, it comes with a truly outstanding range on a single charge. Plus, we already know more details about the integrated batteries.

First leaked details about the batteries for Xiaomi SU7

Preparations for Xiaomi’s first electric car and its launch are in full swing. Xiaomi SU7, the base model of the first series of electric vehicles promises new standards when it comes to autonomous driving modes—and it won’t fall short even in battery capacity, which will deliver an impressive range on a single charge.

The latest information points to two main versions of the vehicle, which differ in battery capacity. One version will offer a 101 kWh battery pack, while the other will have a slightly smaller 73.6 kWh battery. The 101 kWh version will provide a range somewhere between 750 – 800 kilometers. And the 73.6 kWh version will offer 628 – 688 kilometers. These are top-of-the-segment range figures for the SU7, but the final result also depends on your driving style.

Two versions, range up to 800 kilometers

Despite the generous battery capacity, the weight of Xiaomi vehicles remains the same—or comparable—to the weight of the major EV competitors in the segment. Specifically, it’s 2205 kilograms for the 101 kWh version and 1980 kilograms for the 73.6 kWh version. This balance between weight and performance is essential for energy efficiency and the best driving experience.

Another interesting point is the price. Xiaomi has outlined the selling prices for the standard version, Pro, and Max versions. The range will be from €24,500 (190,000 Chinese yuan) up to €38,700 (300,000 Chinese yuan).

The document reveals details about the weight and the battery of the Xiaomi SU7.

Thanks to this pricing strategy, the Xiaomi SU7 will become an accessible option. The standard version at 190,000 yuan is meant to lower the entry-model selling price in the EV market. Meanwhile, the more expensive Pro and Max versions are designed to support sales and strengthen Xiaomi’s brand image in the automotive sector.

More leaked information suggests that the electric car launch press conference has already been scheduled internally. It’s expected to take place in China, in Beijing, on 28. December 2023.
