Quick summary

  • At IFA 2026, Xiaomi had seven appliances tested by two German labs—appliances it hasn’t officially presented anywhere yet or sells.
  • TÜV Rheinland certified four washing machines and dryers, plus a robotic vacuum cleaner, while VDE added an air conditioner and a fridge.
  • The washer-dryer Mijia Heat Pump Washer Dryer Pro 10 kg uses up to 75% less energy during washing than the requirement for the European A energy class.
  • The new Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 7 Max delivers 97% recognition accuracy based on measurements and can spot a 3 mm thick cable.
  • Xiaomi has not yet shared prices or sale dates.

When the company ships appliances to Europe, it needs numbers that someone independent has verified—without that, white goods don’t get sold here. That’s why at the Berlin trade show IFA 2026 Xiaomi ran two certification ceremonies at once and had the German test labs TÜV Rheinland and VDE verify seven appliances.

What’s interesting is that these are models Xiaomi hasn’t officially introduced anywhere yet, so this is currently the most concrete look at what it’s planning for our homes.

The triple-drum washer-dryer is meant to kill 99,99 % of bacteria

The main star is the Mijia Tri-Drum Washer Dryer Pro 12 kg — a washer-dryer that, instead of one large drum, uses one main drum plus two smaller ones above it, so delicate or hygienically demanding laundry doesn’t get mixed with the rest. Xiaomi presents it in Berlin as its flagship for European households.

According to Xiaomi’s official X profile, TÜV Rheinland measured 99.99% bacterial and yeast removal for it, including E. coli, Gardnerella, Candida albicans, and Staphylococcus aureus. The key detail is where the tests were done: not only in the drums, but also in the inlet and drain pipes—precisely the places where, in aging washing machines, what you then smell from freshly washed laundry accumulates. The washer-dryer also received an Allergy Care certificate, awarded by TÜV Rheinland to appliances suitable for allergy sufferers.

Three heat-pump dryers go with the European energy class A

The other three certified models are dryers and a washer-dryer, all with a heat pump—a technology that dries at lower temperatures and uses significantly less energy than traditional heating. The Mijia Heat Pump Dryer Pro 12 kg managed, according to measurements, to reduce 3 kg of synthetic and blended fabrics from 40% to 0.5% residual moisture in 35 minutes. That’s a very solid result for a heat-pump dryer, because slow drying is usually their biggest drawback.

The weaker Mijia Heat Pump Dryer Pro 10 kg has an energy efficiency index 10% better than the threshold for the European A class. But the most interesting figure is what the Mijia Heat Pump Washer Dryer Pro 10 kg holds: in a standalone wash cycle it’s 75% below the A-class threshold, and in a combined wash+dry cycle it’s 45% below.

Class A is the strictest target on the European energy label, so beating it by three quarters is a tough benchmark—while also being a clear sign that Xiaomi designed these models specifically for our market and our labels, not for China.

VDE added an air conditioner and a fridge

Xiaomi handled its second ceremony with VDE, the German Association of Electrical Engineers that has been testing and certifying appliances for over 130 years. This time, two completely different device types were up next. Mijia Air Conditioner Eco 12KBTU/h, which translates to an air conditioner with a power of roughly 3.5 kW, received confirmed 25% energy savings thanks to AI control that automatically adjusts operation to the environment.

The second unit is the fridge Mijia Refrigerator Pro Multi-Door 508 L, and its number is the least self-explanatory of them all: juice loss of only 1.61%. It shows how much liquid food loses during storage—so the lower the figure, the less meat, fruit, and vegetables dry out, and the longer they look and taste fresh.

This is exactly the metric behind the marketing for premium refrigerators, and Xiaomi clearly wants to secure it even before entering the market. By the way, Heat Pump Dryer Pro 12 kg is the only appliance that received a stamp from both test labs—VDE also confirmed its dehumidifying performance of 29.97 g/min.

The Robot Vacuum 7 Max spots a cable that’s three millimeters thick

The list also includes the only non-appliance item—a robotic vacuum cleaner Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 7 Max, which hasn’t been unveiled yet either. From TÜV Rheinland, it received a certificate for High Accuracy Object Recognition, meaning proof of accurate object recognition, along with 97% success rate of AI recognition.

The vacuum needs to recognize over 200 types of obstacles, more than 80 pieces of furniture, and 47 types of dirt, and it can even handle a headphone cable that’s 3 mm thick—which is exactly the kind of obstacle that robotic vacuums most often get tangled in. If those numbers sound familiar, you’re right: a very similar setup is also found in the flagship Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max we introduced in summer.

What does this mean for us

Certificates from TÜV Rheinland and VDE aren’t just marketing decoration, but a practical ticket into European stores—retail chains and customers expect verified numbers for white goods, not the manufacturer’s promises. The fact that Xiaomi equips models that it hasn’t even announced yet with these certifications is clear proof: the expansion of the Mijia brand into Europe is something they’re taking seriously, not just a few units for testing.

The first products are already here—in stock now are the Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 9 kg washer-dryer and the Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L. That makes seven certified new models the next wave. Xiaomi, however, hasn’t shared pricing or sales dates yet, nor has it published the full specifications. Everything we know so far are just the measured values. You’ll find a complete overview of what Xiaomi showed in Berlin in our article about the entire conference at IFA 2026.
