Alongside the announcement of the new premium flagship smartphone Xiaomi MIX 4, the Chinese manufacturer also introduced a new and interesting feature Xiaomi Magic. It’s designed for transferring music in the style of the popular Spotify app.
New Xiaomi Magic feature
The new Xiaomi Magic service was unveiled at the same press conference as the MIX 4 flagship smartphone, but not many people paid attention to it. This feature resembles the popular Spotify app, allowing you to sync and transfer your music between various devices.
Magic lets you transfer music between different smartphones or speakers without having to pair them. However, you need to connect the devices to the same Wi‑Fi network. After that, you can send your favorite track to a speaker or any other supported device that’s connected to the same network and can play music.
Music streaming isn’t a problem
The Xiaomi Magic feature supports various third-party apps, such as QQ Music or NetEase Cloud Music (services popular mainly in China). What’s more, music transfer isn’t supported to just one device. Magic lets you connect up to 8 different speakers to create surround sound.
To set up this connection, you need to press a shortcut in the new media center, which Xiaomi has integrated directly into the control center in MIUI. This makes it possible to share any track that’s currently playing, regardless of which app it comes from.
At the moment, the Xiaomi Magic feature is compatible only with new Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Mi Pad 5 devices, or with the Xiaomi Sound speaker. However, it’s expected that this service will gradually expand to more devices. That way, you’ll get an even easier music transfer than ever before.
