The upcoming smartphone POCO F5 is making noise again. The manufacturer has now officially confirmed the use of a new, very powerful processor from Qualcomm. However, this time it will be a rebranded Redmi smartphone.
The latest Qualcomm processor on board
Its announcement came via Qualcomm’s Indian Twitter account. It says that in the POCO F5 smartphone we can expect the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2.
But the choice of chipset isn’t surprising at all, because the POCO F5 smartphone is just a rebranded Chinese model, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. The only unknown is the price and availability of this smartphone.
The global POCO F5 appeared on Geekbench 6 with the model number 23049PCD8G. According to the listing, the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 with up to 12 GB RAM. On board is the latest Android 13.
In the single-core test it scored 1 629 points, and in the multi-core test it was 4 295 points. Recently, an Indian version of the smartphone also appeared on the Geekbench site.
However, the test ran on an older Geekbench 5 and recorded a single-core score of 1 118 points and a multi-core score of 4 236 points. The difference in scores is due to different Geekbench platform versions.

The POCO F5 will come with a premium design with sharply cut edges. On the front, you’ll get a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display will also include an in-display fingerprint reader.
The main camera will have a resolution of 64 MP, supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro. POCO will also include good stereo speakers and Android 13 along with MIUI 14.
Battery life will be handled by a 5,000 mAh battery together with 67W charging. RAM will come in 8 or 12 GB, along with 256GB of storage. According to a leak, the device will be available in black, white, and blue.
