Redmi AX5 is the first Redmi router that supports Wi-Fi 6 technology. It will be unveiled as early as tomorrow

Xiaomi, together with its Redmi subsidiary, is bringing several routers to the market that stand out with their premium specs and still low price. Soon, it will officially add a new model Redmi AX5 to them.

This is the second router from Redmi in the lineup, but the first one to support the Wi-Fi 6 standard. Its low price will definitely not be overlooked.

Tomorrow

Redmi today officially announced via the Weibo social network that the new Redmi AX5 router in home China will be presented tomorrow already, 8.6., at 10:00. Redmi AX5 will be the successor to the highly successful AC2100 model.

Wi-Fi 6 is not missing

The only known information about the new model is that it will come with Wi-Fi 6 support. We’ll have to wait for more detailed specifications.

While this router is Redmi’s first with Wi-Fi 6, Xiaomi already has two Wi-Fi 6 routers in its portfolio — Mi Router AX1800 and Mi AIoT Router AX3600.

Besides Wi-Fi 6 support, we expect the new device to follow the pattern of previous models and again come with a low price. The Redmi AC2100 router, the predecessor of Redmi AX5, is currently available for about €41 / $46 only.
