Xiaomi, along with its sub-brands, is known for a truly wide smartphone lineup. This Chinese giant covers almost the entire price range, from the very cheapest models to premium ones in four-digit sums.
The vast majority of these devices offer an excellent price-to-performance ratio, but the difference often comes down to software support. In this article, we’ll show you an unofficial list of Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, and Blackshark smartphones that should get an update to the Android 12 operating system.
Standard support
Smartphone manufacturers with the Android operating system in most cases offer two years of update support (two versions of the Android OS) and three years of security updates. Some manufacturers go beyond this standard, others not.
As this preliminary list of supported smartphones for Android 12 shows, most of them will get exactly two years of support. For example, the popular Mi 9 series probably won’t see a new version of the system.
First, flagship models from the latest eleventh series should receive the update, with support confirmed by the manufacturer itself. Gradually, more and more smartphones should be added to the list.
The twelfth version of the Android operating system will bring mainly security and design changes. Developers focused on a minimalist design that looks significantly different from the current version. We’re really curious what these changes will look like in real life.
In the discussion under the article, you can write to us whether you see your smartphone in the list above, and if so, whether it will get the Android 12 update or stay with the previous eleventh version.
