Xiaomi is bringing an update for its popular robot vacuum cleaner with the name Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P. It will offer storing multiple maps.
Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P: New software update
The very popular Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P is expanding even further in official distribution to more countries. Not long ago, Xiaomi launched this product on the Indian market. At the request of more fans, the manufacturer decided to bring a software update as well.
In a press release, the Chinese manufacturer states that the firmware update with the official version label 3.5.8_0035 adds support for scanning multiple maps into the robot vacuum cleaner’s memory.
From now on, you’ll be able to save up to 10 different maps, which can be handy especially in office spaces. Until now, this model supported only one map, and if you wanted to scan a new area, the original map had to be replaced and was irretrievably deleted.
Right after successfully installing the new firmware, you need to follow the next steps.
The process is really very simple:
- Open the Mi Home app and select the appropriate device (Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P).
- Tap the three-dots icon in the top-right corner, then choose the firmware update option.
- After the update, restart the app and the vacuum cleaner (1x).
To create new maps and access them, you need to select the following:
- Create a new map: Settings -> Map list -> Create new map.
- Access the saved map: Settings -> Map list.
The update isn’t officially available in Slovakia yet, so we couldn’t test this feature on our editorial vacuum cleaner. We’re curious when the update will reach Europe too, but we expect it to happen in the coming days to weeks via the well-known Xiaomi Home app.
