The Xiaomi electric car is among the products from this manufacturer that have surprised and impressed us the most. However, it’s not the only smartphone and electronics producer that plans to develop its own vehicle. Redmi is part of Xiaomi, but there are speculations that this subsidiary could also develop its own vehicle. Will it be even cheaper compared to Xiaomi SU7?
Can we look forward to the arrival of an electric car from Redmi?
There’s no doubt there would be a lot of interest in the Xiaomi SU7. But what if an even cheaper car, carrying the Redmi brand logo, were introduced instead? We’re sure it would be a dream come true for many fans of this Chinese giant. Redmi CEO Wang Teng hinted at something. He claims that there is currently no plan for any Redmi car, but the company is definitely interested in creating a future project under the Xiaomi brand.
So it’s clear that for another electric car, or possibly a separate model, from Redmi, we’ll have to wait at least another year. The positive news, however, is that the door to new opportunities is open. Wang Teng added that if we want to see another electric car from Xiaomi / Redmi, we need to focus on promoting their current model – Xiaomi SU7.
After all, Xiaomi cars are still at an early stage, and the first model needs to be refined first. Supposedly, it isn’t currently possible to reduce costs enough to build an affordable electric car with features that can outperform the competition.
