Xiaomi is preparing its first supercar coupe: a leak reveals a huge carbon wing and performance of 2000 hp

It seems Xiaomi is working on another extremely interesting electric vehicle. On Chinese highways, a camouflaged prototype of a two-door sports coupe was spotted—thanks to its proportions and design details, it immediately sparked speculation that it could be a new model from Xiaomi’s automotive division. Although the manufacturer hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, several distinctive features point to the successful Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

If this information is confirmed, it will be Xiaomi’s very first production sports coupe. The car could also use the technologies introduced in the futuristic Vision GT concept, which until now was only intended for the Gran Turismo racing simulator 7.

The camouflage couldn’t hide the resemblance to Xiaomi SU7 Ultra

In the leaked photos, the entire car is covered in a camouflage film, but some design elements remain clearly visible. The most striking is the rear light signature in the form of a continuous light strip, which strongly resembles the production model Xiaomi SU7.

A very low body silhouette, wide fenders, and an elegant fastback roof will also stand out. Overall proportions suggest that Xiaomi is preparing a real sports electric car that will sit above the current SU7 Ultra sedan.

The test prototype has a prominent fixed rear wing of the swan-neck type, mounted directly on the trunk lid. This kind of solution is familiar from professional track cars, and its job is to generate the maximum possible downforce at high speeds.

The rear section also hides a powerful multi-layer diffuser, along with sporty wheel designs with large yellow brake calipers. Even at a glance, it’s clear the developers’ priority isn’t comfort, but maximum driving performance on a racetrack.

Speculation puts the output at up to 2054 hp

The most interesting rumors are about the powertrain. According to several Chinese sources, this sports coupe could be the first production model to use the upcoming four-motor electric setup with a total output of up to 2054 horsepower.

Such a technology was shown earlier as a technological showcase, but until now it hasn’t appeared in any mass-produced vehicle. If Xiaomi really applies this configuration, it will create one of the most powerful production electric cars in the world.

Along with extreme performance, the latest active suspension system from Xiaomi is also expected. It uses the 48 V architecture and separate electronic control for each wheel, allowing it to adjust the damper characteristics in real time based on the current driving situation.

There’s also talk of implementing steer-by-wire technology, where the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels is replaced by electronic steering. The result should be even more precise handling during sporty driving.

It will draw on experience from SU7 Ultra and the Nürburgring

It’s no secret that Xiaomi has been intensively testing its electric vehicles on the legendary Nürburgring circuit in recent months. The SU7 Ultra model set an exceptionally impressive time 6:22,091 there, showing that the manufacturer is serious about developing high-performance electric cars.

The new two-door coupe could take those experiences even further and become the flagship of Xiaomi’s entire automotive division. Exactly this kind of halo vehicle would help the brand build prestige even beyond China’s domestic market.

Xiaomi’s automotive division has already confirmed that it plans to launch officially in foreign markets during the second half of the year 2027. Europe will be among the priority regions, where the manufacturer wants to take on established brands in the premium electric vehicle segment.

Sporty coupes could significantly boost the brand’s image even before sales begin on global markets. So far, though, it’s only leaked photos of a test prototype, and Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of a new model.
