On Thursday, October 15, Xiaomi began rolling out the stable HyperOS 4 with Android 17. The first to get it are owners of the Chinese versions of Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra. The same group also includes REDMI K90, K100 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 8 tablets. Other devices will follow gradually, with the last ones waiting until January.
European phone owners will be more interested in what showed up on Xiaomi’s servers the same day. The Telegram channel XiaomiTime tracks new firmware versions. In just one day, on October 15, it added 39 new HyperOS 4 test builds for European and global versions. Among them are also three-year-old phones.
When will HyperOS 4 come to which model?
The update plan for China has six timelines and covers more than 100 phones, tablets, TVs, and watches. Each group includes a date by which the update should start rolling out.
The date doesn’t mean everyone will get the update on that day. Xiaomi releases it gradually in batches, so someone with the same model might receive it a few days earlier. Watches and bands are at the end of the list. Xiaomi Watch 5 is scheduled to get HyperOS 4 in December, Watch S4, REDMI Watch 6 and Smart Band 10 in January.

REDMI K and Turbo phones are sold outside China under the POCO brand. Based on codename information in the builds, REDMI K90 corresponds to the global POCO F8 Pro, K100 Pro matches the POCO F9 Pro model, and REDMI Turbo 5 is POCO X8 Pro. However, the date in the table applies only to the Chinese system. POCO with a global or European firmware will receive the update according to its own schedule.
You can update Chinese Xiaomi 17 right now
Owners of Chinese versions have it best. If you ordered Chinese Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17, or 17 Ultra through our coupon, your phone belongs to the first wave. The update brings a new version of Android, so make a backup of your photos, contacts, and messages before installing it. Charge your phone to at least half beforehand.
Europe doesn’t have a date, but there are test builds for 39
Xiaomi hasn’t announced the exact date for global and European versions yet. Since September 10, the beta has been running for Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra, and Leitzphone. A week later, Xiaomi 17T, 17T Pro, 15, and 15 Ultra were added. You can sign up via the Xiaomi Community app, and the process has been described in the article about the global beta.
The Thursday batch of test builds is so far the broadest. The European (EEA) version has been rolled out to, among others, Xiaomi 13, 13T Pro, 15, 15T, 17T Pro, and MIX Flip. Among the more affordable models, the list includes Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, REDMI Note 15 Pro+, REDMI 15 4G, POCO F6, POCO F7 Pro, POCO X8 Pro Max, and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro tablet.
Global builds for phones bought outside the EU have been added for Xiaomi 13 Ultra, 14 Ultra, 14T, 15T Pro, and 17T. They’ve also gone out to POCO F7, F7 Ultra, F8 Pro, F9 Pro, X6 Pro, and X8 Pro. From the REDMI Note series, Note 14 Pro+, Note 15 Pro, and Note 17 5G were also added.
These phones will get HyperOS 4 in Europe among the first
If you’re planning a new phone, it’s worth picking a model that’s ahead on the update roadmap. The global HyperOS 4 beta already includes Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro. The second one is sold in Slovakia by over 30 stores.

When will HyperOS 4 land on European phones?
You can’t download the test build yet. Xiaomi tests the system internally first, and the new OS reaches customers only later. However, the list shows Xiaomi is preparing the European version not only for the newest flagship models. The lineup also includes Xiaomi 13 from 2023 and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G from 2024.
The exact date can only be estimated for now. Some overseas websites estimate that the stable version typically arrives outside China about four to six weeks later. That means the first European phones could get it in the second half of November. Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed this yet.
Which system version you have will be revealed by the build number in Settings under My Phone. The letters EU before the XM suffix mean the European version, MI stands for the global one, and CN for the Chinese one. For example, build OS4.0.0.8.XPSEUXM belongs to the European Xiaomi 17T Pro. All models that will receive HyperOS 4 are continuously added to the smartphone list. How the new system behaves in practice is described in the first review of the global version.
